There’s a lot to like about hemp! It’s a fast-growing crop that can grow from a seed to plant in just 90 days. It needs fewer resources to grow (less land, water, energy and chemicals) and absorbs carbon. Additionally, hemp fibers are longer than wood fibers, which makes it more resistant to wear and tear.
No, it’s not. Hemp and marijuana are both cannabis, but they contain different amounts of the tetrahydrocannabinol chemical, more commonly known as THC. Hemp contains small traces of THC – 0.3% or less by dry weight. Marijuana has a higher THC amount. Since our hemp paper stock is a blend of hemp, recycled paper and wood fiber, there are only slight traces of THC – nearly none.
This cardstock is 17.5pt (equal to .0175 of an inch). To give you a frame of reference, each point (pt) is equal to .001 of an inch.
Yes, compared to wood-based papers. Hemp fibers are longer than typical wood fibers, making the paper less likely to yellow, tear or deteriorate. Please note that these fibers are also visible – they add a light speckling effect to your card.
